Sooooo...why isn't this page called D. Poon?KrytenKoro 22:22, 21 February 2011 (EST)

It's not a confirmed name. I looked and looked and the only North American guide is an unofficial Prima games one. This is before Nintendo switched to using them for their guides. Stuff in there isn't necessarily canon. There is a guidebook in Japan for LA DX, but that'd be for the Japanese name. As far as I can tell, there was no official guide from Nintendo of America for the official NoA name. So we can't confirm that claim.Matt (Talk) 06:12, February 22, 2011 (UTC)

D. Poon is in the Prima guide, which has the seal of an Official Nintendo Licensed Product. I'm not exactly sure to what point that makes the guide canon, but one thing I do know is that this boss looks nothing like a Hardhat Beetle. Aside from that, I have yet to find any official source for this name; it's not from in-game, the guide, the manual, or Zelda.com (which can hardly be taken seriously anyway) and I don't know what other official sources there are out there. — Hylian King [*] 18:27, 12 September 2012 (EDT)

I missed this conversation... he looks a lot like a Hardhat Beetle, actually (ALttP one anyway), so not sure what you mean by that. I would not really take it as canon, though. Prima guides are notoriously... inconsistent with names. The Spirit Tracks guide for example has two names for every enemy, sometimes switching back and forth on a single page. As me and HK have discussed before, the Prima names in this instance are simply direct, relatively poor translations of the Japanese names. Evil Orb is the closest thing to an official Nintendo source outside of that guide. The guides on Zelda.com aren't bad, although the site is notoriously inconsistent of course. It's not the best name but it seems to suit the style of the rest of the game's bosses. User:Fizzle8094/sig 05:15, 24 December 2012 (UTC)
I'd say that Prima getting Nintendo's seal of approval doesn't mean much. They're being licensed by Nintendo to make the official guides now, but still aren't given access to internal documents. Prima made player's guides back before Nintendo paid them to, and they haven't improved much since. --KingStarscream 14:02, 31 May 2013 (UTC)
