Reorganization[]

This article is very confusing. The first image shows a Peahat... Why don't we just replace that image with one of the many caves found in the Original Zelda? A nice and simple example of a cave.

This article also talks a lot about Grottos, I think there should be an individual article for Secret Grottos. In my view it would be a good idea to simply list all the caves found in the Zelda Series, similar to how the Shop article is arranged, Can I have permission to do such a thing to this article? I disagree with splitting "Secret Grotto" because they just aren't very notable. They appear everywhere and just have minor features. Regarding listing every cave...I think the list would be WAY too massive if we did that. TLoZ alone has so many caves, and can you imagine trying to list every single cave in the series? It would be madness. What I would not be opposed to doing is listing notable caves and grottoes, like the ones in MM which have the big gossip stones, or the ones with special enemies guarding a Piece of Heart. I'd also like to see listings of the different underground caves found in TP which Link has to dig to reach, as these usually hide some noteworthy stuff. Also, a couple are great for fishing, and that's very weird and notable. But that's just me. Let's see what everyone else has to say.Justin(Talk) 18:31, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
What Justin said. This page definitely has lots of room for expansion; the article currently mentions practically nothing about caves in 2D games, and its in these games that caves play the biggest role, really. Until this article gets fleshed out, though, we're not in a good position to judge whether or not Secret Grottoes should be split from this page because, well, there'd be nothing left here if we did! That said, I'm not sure it would be a good idea anyway because to me they don't strike me as being all that different from many small 2D caves. Obviously there's going to be some differences when you compare 2D and 3D versions of anything, but their function in many cases is much the same. — Hylian King [*] 22:20, 17 January 2013 (UTC)

Rename to Secret Grotto?[]

This article seems to cover only the secret small caves (ie: grottos) from the 3d games. As stated above, it doesn't make any mention of the caves from the 2d games, which are generally considerably bigger than the ones found in the 3d games, and aren't always secret or hidden. So I think it should be renamed to "Secret Grotto" or "Grotto". Drillzer (talk) 01:38, 6 February 2019 (UTC)

Our policy states that we must use the most recent name for these underground caves (in this case TPHD), so all the information related to them has been moved to Dig Cavern. This page has been made a disambiguation that links to all the named caves in the series. - Chuck * (Talk) 01:01, 10 February 2019 (UTC)

Reorganise mark 2[]

In my opinion, this page absolutely should not be a disambiguation page. TotK added dozens of new caves, making it a key element for that game alone. Plus smaller caves have been an established element of the series since the NES days. -- Tybort (talk page) 15:26, 13 July 2023 (UTC)
